After 15 years of this blog being live and having run a different blog with a different web host for 8 years, I finally decided this blog needed to be better. I thought it was time I added an About page to this blog because to now, I have had no pages at all and only relied on Lables. Which is similar to categories over at Wordpress.
So in an About page you're looking to learn about me, the author and creator and maybe you want to know why you should even read anything here. I didn't really have a direction for this blog when I started. My blog over at Wordpress had one specific topic and that was about home education and in particular in my home state of Pennsylvania. As of May of 2025 though, I am no longer a home educator as both of my children have graduated now. That blog is taking a new direction, or so I hope. It was never my intention to abandon this blog but I was focused on the other one and my job as a home educator. This blog always was just so random and it needs a direction, a clear one. My other blog (see it here) is going to remain focused on one topic...faith...Bible study. This blog contains some of that but I feel like I want to keep this blog more focused on article writing and short fiction. I think that's always what I wanted it to be but it became personal also.
Going forward I have removed several of my old posts and others I'm going to move into a sort of archive where they are still readable but not as prominent, hopefully. I don't want to erase who I was when I wrote this as many of them show my growth especially around the time my mom died of breast cancer in 2014. She was 63, I was 38. I am now 49 (10/29/2025).Yeah, that's right...I told you my age.
So, who is behind this blog? Well you can check my Blogger profile if you want to. My name is Holly and I've always had a creative spirit in me. I've never known how to use it and I am still working on that. Graphite pencil drawing is what I love most in the creative world. I've been teaching myself different mediums as well. Maybe in the future there will be a page showcasing some of my work. I have not figured out how to do this on Blogger yet. Most importantly is that I am a born-again Christian. I follow Jesus and I changed my life to make him the center and I want to honor him in my speach, what I watch, how I act and anything I do. Will I fail sometimes? Of course. This will be a primary topic over at my other blog.
Am I the best speller or stellar writer? No, but I feel I can still convey a message decently. I can't remember a time in my life where I wasn't writing. Even when I was young I was making up stories and writing them down. Many stories don't get finished no matter how committed to finishing them I become. This blog was originally intended to share those stories and at the time I was content writing, taking random assignments to create articles and though I could't share them here at the time, once they closed their site I could do what I wanted with my own material.
