7 Months, 41 pounds and counting
I started Weight Watchers in March, and here we are in October already. Bring out the jackets and long sleeves and almost ready to say goodbye to the flip-flops. Today was pretty warm for fall, no jacket needed and the flip-flops were worn, but tomorrow will be another story as here in the NEPA we are getting hit with some cold weather again. Will we have another freak 14 inches of snow this Halloween? That's anyone's guess. Anyway, back to Weight Watchers...next week marks 7 months for me. In 7 months I am happy to report that my scale tells me I have lost just over 41 pounds and my next weigh in is Sunday which I am hoping for a least one pound down. I am far from thin but I am happy with what I have achieved and it is definitely getting harder but I tell myself I do not want to undo all that I done when I think about going back to not thinking about what I eat.
Maybe some people at this point no longer track what they are eating, but I am. I think I have too. I don't trust myself. Will I do it forever? I really don't know. There are some days I don't track, but mostly I do. Once I get closer to where I want to be I plan to go back and join Weight Watchers online for support and guidance on how to maintain. I will probably re-join as I get close to that goal, for now I am doing it on my own after having been a subscriber for 3 months. I know these posts are probably getting old, but I can't say it enough that Weight Watchers works...but you have to stick to the plan...NO CHEATING! You must stay within your points. It's not so hard, really. They give you an extra 49 points a week to use how you want. You will still lose weight even if you use them plus all your daily, just slower maybe, unless you add some workouts to your day.
Speaking of workouts, I can not rave enough about Jillian Michaels 30-shred. I have tried a lot of workout DVDs and VHS tapes in the past and by far I get the most out of her dvd for a lot less time. I've done DVD's with 50 minute workouts where I barely built up a sweat. I would do them daily for weeks and never feel like it did anything for me. Jillian's 30-shred is broken into 3 levels each about 20 minutes long. I guarantee you that in those 20 minutes you will be feeling it. I didn't time it and I never planned to use it for just 30 days, I am sure I am long over that, but I took my time, I eased into the workouts. I have a bad knee and back and neck issues so I didn't want to hurt myself. I did level one for a while and moved on to level 2. This week I felt level 2 was just a bit to easy so I bumped up to level 3. Level 3 is killer. Level 3 is not easy and I think I am going back to level 2 for a little bit more. Level 3 did put stress on my bad knee causing me some pain so I had to baby it and I try to be very conscious of form during the movements. Never ever put your knee over your toe. My knee thing isn't new. So I'll modify. I plan to purchase her ab DVD next as that is the area I am the weakest and have the most trouble doing and the area I need and want most to get rid of.
If you expect to have 6-pack abs and to look like Jillian in 30 days you will likely be disappointed unless you didn't have far to go; I did/do. Just keep at it. I don't think anyone hates exercise more than me...here I am doing the best I can. I try for at least 3 days a week but my goal really is 5 days a week which I do accomplish when I feel motivated. I can tell you that since starting the DVD my arms and legs are more toned. I may have been doing the DVD now for about 2 months.
I don't like to give out numbers and really not fond of posting my pictures, but I am adding one from today to this post. You can see where I started from in my previous post.
Oh, I recently was given the Wii Fit Plus game and balance board as a gift and I really like it. I do not do it every day as I know I get more from Jillian, however the running segments are good cardio as well as the stepper. The Yoga and strength exercises are great. I am currently trying to get my Wii Fit Age to match my REAL age, there's currently a 7 year age difference. The balance board doubles as a scale. I am not sure how accurate it is as it doesn't match my digital bathroom scale, but I have also had doubts about that one being accurate. All I know is that I lost just over 41 pounds from the # on the day I started Weight Watchers to the # on the scale when I weighed in last week. Next stop is a visit to my doctor for a physical, but really it's just to show off how proud I am of losing all this weight!

Good job!!! I have decided that the exercising does do something as well as eating right. I have ben eating fairly well, but not seeing any difference, so I need some calorie burning exercise in my days!!! I am using my Giselle thingamajigit.... it works very well, and I exercise my WHOLE body. Fridays I can't work out, but I can mon-thurs. I do about half hour, getting my heartrate up. I just watch tv during that time. lol!!! I liked the bollywood dancing on the cable on demand... don't know if they have something like that on ours. it was free, and worked fairly well. I havebeen very active all summer, but that's not enough. HAVE to get the heart rate up. So, I am starting up again, after gaining back 5 lbs over the last six- months!! I'd really like to get to pre-daughter weight.... way to stick to your plan. that's all it takes. SOOO many people try this and try that. when in reality, if you eat RIGHT, and exercise, and limit your caloric intake, you 'should' succeed. it's not easy by any means. But, apparently, I am up for another challenge! haha!!!
